tomato soup. i like tomato soup but it is too acidy from the can.

Don't have any recipes but keep in mind that tomatoes are very acidic naturally and the only way you can adjust this is by using cream to neutralize the acid a bit. Try adding a little cream or milk to your canned tomatoe soup and see if that is easier on the tummy.

go look on The Foody UK and Ireland....there are some fabulous recipes on there...all tried and tested...i just made some of their marmalade...it was smashing and normally i cant have marmalade because of the acid in the oranges!

okay thanks man, I will try that... I guess Im just gonna have to experiment to see what I like... Im prolly gonna also try some pudding mix with this as well.. thanks

Canned tomato-based stuff gets me too (heartburn alert) so I add just a tiny bit of sugar before cooking. Neutralizes the acid and you don't add so much that it sweetens/changes the taste.

i finally got my tomato soup just the way i like it. i use campbell's tomato soup. i saute onions and just at the last second i throw in some Italian parsely. then i add a tad of sugar to cut the acid and add the onions. then i add just a smidge of 1/2 and 1/2. it tastes just like the one i use to buy at a specialty store.
