Honeygirl,

I would take the dog to a vet ASAP. It does not matter whether it is holistic or not. Many times they will let you pay over time if they realize you brought it in and knew it was the right thing to do and you are willing to pay.

Sorry to hear about your pup, How old is your dog? What food are you feeding? Has the symptom come on suddenly or over time? Is she spayed?

Some things it could be: Kidney failure, why, hard to tell. Bladder stones, the blood could be an inidcation of stones in the bladder and or urinary tract. Certain foods will cause stones to form and in the microscopic stages of those stones the are sharp crystals that can cause damage to the bladder and urinary tract. One sign of increased water intake is that the kidneys are not functioning as they should be. Could be many things, poisen, age, diet, DNA.

The only way to see if she is in renal failure is to have her tested, and yes, that means taking her to a vet. Call your local vet and ask them what they can do for you and your financial needs, they will have suggestions and plans for you. Good luck, hopfully it is nothing major and all will be well.

Hi Honeygirl.

I lost a 16 year old dog because I didn't notice his wake up, throw up (bile), drink and go back to sleep routine soon enough. I had to put him down due to jaundice, which by that time had overwhelmed him.

Don't wait to get your dog to the vet. As mentioned in an earlier post, they'll likely let you pay it off over time.

At the very least you need to get a vet to run a blood panel, this could be anything from Cushings Disease, to kidney failure, to diabetes.
