i am so excited about a new program that i am going to be starting next week. i ordered it online. it was a one time price. the food comes from the grocery store. the system is that you take a few pictures of yourself in a swimsuit or clothing that shows your physique the best. then you take a marked and black out the areas you want to work on. then there are questions that you have to answer. there are also cards of different body types to help you determine yours. at this point the program is suppose to tell you what foods would be best for you and the foods that you eat will help you lose weight. you excerise very little about 20 mins a day.
what got me was a girl who wieghed 330 pounds. she now wears a size 6. i thought if she could do it i can. what i like about it is that you eat foods from the grocery store.
i will let you know when i start and how i progress on the program and if anyone is interested i will pm you with the program website.
i am looking forward to starting the new year off on the right foot.

Good luck. If that's what it takes to get you going, that's excellent. I've always wondered if those things work, you'll have to keep us updated.

What is the name of the program? I would be careful of programs that say certain foods can make you shed pounds or inches in certain parts of the body as that is not true. You can tone your body using exercise but you will lose fat stores all over your body in the same way your body put them on. Review the diet with a dietician or doctor to make sure this isn't a fad diet or scam which ultimately thins only your wallet.
Eat lots of fruits and veggies, lean meats and whole grain carbohydrates (breads, rice, pasta). Exercise for 30minutes a day by walking or other exercises that gets your heart pumping. Minimize the processed foods (chose real food) that you put in your body to avoid the unnecessary chemicals and perservatives (salt being #1).
Either way, good luck on the new regime.

i got my program today. wow. i am going to have to eat the things that i bought over the weekend before i start my program.
now i realize why some people can lose up to 30 pounds in 6 weeks.
i am so excited, but i hate wasting, so i will be eating smart this week and start next week. the good thing is that i can cook in bulk and have items ready for the week.
i am now off to take my fat pictures and get my measurements. also what i like is that you set small goals and you look at the picture picture at the end. so small baby steps to a new me.

well instead of waiting till next week to start the program i started yesterday. well it was hard at first i wish that i would have read all the foods that i could have. for me i need variety otherwise i will not stick to it. i cant eat the same thing 6 times a day so i choose the menu that has the most choices and i can mix and match. that is what i like about this program. you have several options of what menu you want to do.
the rapid is for very quick results. like you have to lose 5 lbs to fit into a dress for that party coming up in 2 weeks.
the easy menu is for people who dont have time to prep.
the gourmet is for those who like to add extras.
for me i chose the infinite menu. i can choose from the items provide i can mix and match and not have the same thing twice.
what i also like about the program is that you can make ahead of time and the encourage that. they want you to cook in bulk and freeze so you are ready for the week. they also encourage you to start on a monday so that by friday you will see results. i wish i would have done that but it meant waiting another week to go by and i did not want to do that.
also they really encourage you that if you do exercise and you don't have to, but if you do that you must be in your target heart rate if you are not you are not burning fat you are just burning sugars. what you eat is how you burn fat but to accelerate the weight loss you can exercise.
the only other thing is to tone and you do this 2 times a week. you tone the areas you want to lift or change.
now i usually don't like to tell people what i am doing cause i never stick to it.
so anyways yesterday was hard. i should have read more like i stated earlier. oh by the way the day you start you will weigh yourself take measurements and take pictures. you will draw on your pictures to see a dream body. i liked that the best. x'ing out all the sagging areas and fat areas that was fun. also you will keep a log. there is also online support. phone support. a section for after you finish that you can have a crazy day one day out of the week. they also encourage you to treat yourself to something fun....no bingeing though...as they want you to keep going.
now i have been on all those diets jenny, nutri, weight watchers, my own plan and none worked. why is because we are all not the same. in this program you answer some simple questions and then you find out what type you are and we are all different. for example i didnot know that i have a slow metabolism and that i could be hypogylcemic. i was surprised my friend who i thought we were the same she is totally different than me. so we are eating completing different things.
i found out about this program as i was up late one night i couldn't sleep. i was turning over the channels and i saw the micheal thurmond from extreme makeover and i thought wow he really changes people's bodies.
so that is the program i ordered. a 6-week body makeover. you makeover your body in 6-weeks. as i was watching there was a girl who weighed 330lbs and was down to a size 8. i thought if she could do it so can i. so before i knew it i was online ordering the program. and here i am on day 2. today i feel different, even though i am sick with sore throat and all so i wont be exercising to day, but i dont feel bad that i am missing a day. but as soon as i get better i will be out there walking.
if you are tired and want to makeover your body go to:

i can hardly wait to post my dream body after i am done. i have 60 lbs to lose and if i keep it up then i will be done by april. that isn't to far off.

I agree with Furbilator, be careful. My academic background is such that I know a bit about nutrition. If a diet restricts too much of stuff you normally eat or need, you will gain it all back when not on it. For all of you doing the Ped&Paw health challenge, I just read in the prevention magazine that you can get recipes off of the Biggest Loser website. I looked at some of them, they are pretty good. Check it out.
Good luck gsdmama.

today i will be starting week 3 and i have lost a total of 11 pounds. i am so excited. i have been really keeping track of what i eat. i write it all down and that helps me keep focus. also another great focus for me is that i have a chain of paper clips hanging on my fridge. for each pound i lose i add a paper clip. to get all of my water in i put a scratch mark on my plastic cup as soon as i am done drinking that 16 oz cup. that way if it is getting close to dinner and i am needing to drink more i just fill it up.
just some helpful tricks.
