So, I just got done trimming up G, and bathing him..and I towel dried him for a couple minutes, and then let the crazy wet dog loose in my living room. He always air dries fast, so I let him do that..buttt

What do you guys think? Do they turn out prettier when blow-dried or air dried? or is it the same?

my shelties always look fluffier after being blow dried. when I let them air dry the coat seems flatter and their ruff doesnt stand out as much.

Definately blow dried!! Like us girls prefer a dryer to just air drying:eek:
NOTE: ALWAYS keep your dryer moving so you don't burn the little fluff ball!:)

Well I'm not a groomer (YET) but Junior's hair actually feels softer and seems fluffier if I blow dry, it's just a pity that he doesn't like it so usually I allow him to air dry with a quick walk.

Definatally blow dried, if I don't, I get tight poodle curls that matt easily. With a little blow drying, i get a nice fluffy poodle whose hair can go without brushing for about a week.

Gizmo generally looks the same with or without the blow dryer. Unless we are going somewhere really quickly or special, I skip the blow dryer (which we always use on cool, don't wanna burn him at all) and just let him freak out around the house..

That's what's nice about wash and wear dogs!! My vet was like Mary why don't you have dogs with long hair and I told him that after doing it all day I really don't wanna come home and have to do it again for free:eek:
My boxer and jackrussell go nuts after their baths too!! I have to admit that Livvy my ret./dunno mix loves the fluffing and brushing!! Me too:D

Never blow-dry my Cockers but am sure they'd look much better. I did have one though I blow-dried once and his coat was electro-static for weeks afterwards! Every time I touched him the shock happened. Mine air-dry in the driveway chasing balls.

I'm sure they prefer that over a hairdryer any day!! LOL

Yes they do! I had one chocolate who actually stood stock still and braced himself every time I cranked up the hair dryer to do my own hair! I never blow-dried him myself but he obviously had it done many times at his previous home. My current flock usually run in the other direction when I dry my hair. They then get the zoomies and my day gets a really good start!

That's where a good quality conditioner comes in, it stops any static and you should end up with a straight. shiny coat after the blow dry.

Yep, the stuff I use says so on the bottle that its garunteed minimal 1 week free of static. I do prefer to blow dry Tig (my only long coat dog) and it makes him look very handsome, but over night his hair always lays down flat and its glossy :) The other dogs I blow dry during winter months so they dont get sick, if warm enough I let them dry all natural!

Conditioner is a must for static fur. Most static is caused by the dryness not only of the fur but of the surrounding air, usually a quick mist of water or a humidifier in the house will rid you of this nuisance, I know because I had the same problem;)
