My sister got me a dog book for my b-day, it's the dog rules: 14 secrets to developing the dog you want, by Kyra Sundance. I've not quite finished, but I like it. The author is the same as the 101 dog tricks book that I love. The rules are all pretty basic, but they make sense. One rule, praise, then touch, then treat, has really helped me with Miss Bit. She used to not respond to anything unless she saw the treat in your hand, but now she'll do what I ask (mostly, if it's within her ability) for praise or a pat on the head. And that's after about a week and a half. The book is more about forming a partnership with your dog. I like it.
