Hello out there!
I'm Joe, & with my wife Sue & our 3 kids (the human kind), we also have a small zoo. 3 dogs, & 4 cats. As this is a dog forum, I'll tell you a bit about them...
Chance is about 4yrs old. We got him at the Chicago pound. He got his name simply because he took a chance with him, as he did with us. He's like a mini-chow. We suspect he's mixed with American Eskimo, but that's a guess. He's got Chow colors, all the way down to his blue-spotted tongue. He's so cuddly, & so well behaved, it's unbelievable that someone actually gave him up!
Then we have Spike. He's a beautiful (ahem, "Handsome") Shiba Inu. He's probably just a little older than Chance, but they are like brothers. SOOOOO good! They guard our food! Won't take anything without permission...even from our 3year old daughter! We found Spike on the street. Almost like winning the lottery!!! We brought him home, & knew within 15minutes that he was fully trained in English & Spanish, and that he had stolen our hearts. Shiba Inu's are a bit stand-offish, but they will come around & give lots of love...on their terms, of course. Spike is gorgeous, & so well behaved! (& spoiled, just like all the rest!)
Then there's Zuly. "The Beast". We got her at about 8weeks old. She is a blend of Black Lab, Belgian Shepard, & Chow. "Zuly" is a variation of Azul (Blue, in Spanish). Blue spots on her tongue, blueish tint to her eyes, & her coat shines blue in the sunlight. She's almost 2years old now, but the Lab in her keeps her acting like a little puppy. At 80lbs, this can be a problem. She's the "black sheep", but we love here dearly! She's funny & affectionate, but gets herself in trouble A LOT. She'll calm down one day...hopefully soon!
I'll put up pix soon...
We're just saying HI to all the dog-people out there like us:)
