The other day I was going through my climbing gear and found one of Jethros booties for his feet . When I picked it up one of his nails rolled out and all the memories came rushing back.
I shure do miss the meathead and tears still come when I think about him.I am proud to have been his handler co worker and friend I cannot believe it has been 6 mo since you passed. Even in retirement you taught me things like paience and how to relax and enjoy the moment.

we miss you Jethro:(

Yes, the smallest of things bring the memories back don't they? And the tears too. Our doggy friends aren't with us long enough.

Had a couple of those moments myself this weekend cleaning out the barn and missing my donkey. I guess we're blessed to have had these creatures in our lives; such wonderful animals that they stay in our hearts forever.

We just have to shed more tears from time to time.

That's so sweet. You were both lucky to have had each other. I've done the same thing, I just found my old dog's collar and tags in the garage.

Chip has been gone almost 2 years and I've had this happen too.

My biggie is that I see a lot of Chip in Patchs. When she plays with toys and wrestles with Neka it reminds me of when Chip was young and played with Hoss.

The other day I went into the basement and found my old vaccuum cleaner which I was going to throw away. Then I got an idea.... I cut open the bag and there it was filled with my Cheyenne's hair!!!! I cried as I am right now telling you about it. I smelled it and it still smelled just like my Cheyzer so I just took handsful of his hair and put in into plastic bags and then put the bags into tupperware containers in hopes to preserve the scent. I saved some of his hair when he died but the scent...it is like he is here, oh dear God how I miss my precious boy! So I, as we all do know your sadness.

Gosh now I am crying you guys! :( :o I am the same way. My Tiffy girl from when I was a kid and Bubba my mom's dog still get tears now and again. I found Tiffies old collar and had a good sob one day. That is the only thing I don't like about pets... they don't live long enough. :(
