Hi ,
We have just got a 9 week old cocker spaniel. She is adorable, but we are having problems house training her. We are using puppy pads and she has used them a couple of times since coming home, which she was praised and treated for. The last couple of days she has just been going anywhere, I tell her no and place her on her puppy pad but it doesn't seem to be sinking in. What am I doing wrong? I can't take her out yet as she hasn't hadher injections. She has here first one tonight.
Thanks forreading, Lydsy

Welcome! Please post a photo of this little baby when you can!
What colour is she? Mine is white/buff

At 9 weeks old she is only just away from her mommy and littermates. Have patience. This is not an overnight thing.
Cocker Spaniels like to please. They are gentle little souls and cannot bear to be yelled at. It will not be long and she will have had her last vaccinations then you will be able to take her outside every hour and then every 2 hours and then every 3 hours etc.
I would be having the pee pads near the door where you are going to be taking her out. It worked for me in the past. Then when you are able to take her out often, you can remove the pads.
Hope you are crate training. My Cocker Casey is 6 and crate trained. She uses the crate as her haven of safety and quiet. The door is open most of the time but when necessary, I close it. She loves her crate. No food or water in there for her though.
