MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- More than 70 pet carcasses were found on land in Virginia's national forests in boxes and bags, and a pet crematorium worker is now charged with dumping them there illegally.
Some of the dead pets were found with intravenous tubes and other medical equipment attached to their bodies.
Ronald Lee Henry Jr., 39, was indicted this week on a federal charge of willful depredation of federal land. He faces 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
Henry was working as a subcontractor for Family Pet Cremations in Chantilly, Va., when the dumping occurred in December 2005, police said
