I always find that if you watch it for a few days or a week that something hits you about the dog that just cries out a name......I had a Bassett that moaned when food was around she was eventually named Mona. My oldest border is named Opie because when the Andy Griffith show was on she came to the whistle in the openning song. Indy is for her propensity to climb and try everything (Indiana Jones) and her independent streak. Naming dogs is so much fun:cool:

I have a miniature dachshund cross and I knew as soon as I saw him at 3 weeks that he was a little Bandit. Thats how quickly he stole his way into my family. Ok- so his black mask kind of helped us with his name too...and my son originally wanted to call him "Shortie". A neighbor also has 1 named David- as in "David and Goliath". Bandit has a brother named "Ike" and a sister named "Shiloh". Their mom is called "Jasmine". Good luck with the naming!:)
I met my doxie when she was a week old and took a picture of her. I carried it everywhere with me until one day the name Zoey popped into my head. I wasn't sure if that name was the right one until immediatly afterwards I started hearing and seeing the name everywhere. When I met Zoey again 7 weeks later I called her Zoey and she came right over to me.

Well, now you know the secret.
Dogs are psychic.
Welcome and good luck to you with your new furbaby.

This is true in my dogs case as well... she's so happy and loving and bouncy we almost had no choice but to call her Bonnie...
Before I met her at the RSPCA centre I didnt like the name Bonnie.. I had wanted to call her something different like Cerridwen or Briony but after spending time with her.. she was obviously a Bonnie..
See how your puppy behaves in different situations; play, socialisation, rest, training etc etc... eventually a name will just jump out at you!
