Your dog might make a nice fake fur coat
They can have my dog's fur - there's lots of it.

WASHINGTON (AP) — That fur trim on your jacket that you think is fake? Tell it to Fido.
An animal advocacy group says its investigation has turned up coats — some with designer labels, some at higher-end retailers — with fur from man’s best friend. Some retailers were set scrambling to pull the coats from shelves, take them off Web sites and even offer refunds to consumers.
The Humane Society of the United States said it purchased coats from reputable outlets, such as upscale Nordstrom, with designer labels — Andrew Marc, Tommy Hilfiger, for example — and found them trimmed with fur from domestic dogs, even though the fur was advertised as fake

Nothing surprises me much anymore but this is really gross.
My little cocker spaniel has gorgeous fur and I cannot imagine her ending up trimming somebody's designer fashion.
When it is her time to go to the Rainbow Bridge she will definitely not end up where that could ever happen. I brought my cat home and buried him in my garden, my dogs will be cremated and I will bury their ashes. Then I will know they will rest in peace.

It' quite worrying to read. My pets stay with me in my heart, burried under cherry trees in various gardens. I wonder if pet remains wander off to various outlets in the uk also?

I cannot imagine any ethical vet ever allowing that to happen with euthanized animals from his practise, after all he/she is paid a fee for disposing of the body.
Unethical puppy mills may be doing this to get rid of undesirable or dead puppies. Guess in any area of society, there are people out to make money in any way they can and without a conscience or a concern for what is decent.

I find that very sick. That is exactly the reaosn i dont wear or buy any fur items even fake fur i dont trust.
