ANy body have any good idea of home remedies i can give my son? He is getting a croopy cough (sp.) and and has a really bad runny nose. I want to give him something for his coughing because he never gets sleep, throws up like crazy from coughing so much, get bad fevers and never eats. So any ideas on what really helps get rid of the cough and runny nose for a 3 yr old?

I don't want to sound like a smart azz but shouldn't you be taking your son to a doctor and not ask a human related question on a dog site?

If this has been going on for a while, you may want to take him in to be checked. My brother was coughing a lot, to the point where he was vomiting and now needs physiotherapy for his back. He was given puffers to help him breathe, which has eliminated the coughing.
Even if they say it isn't serious, they should be able to show you some medicine that will help him feel better until it passes.

It probably isn't toxic but I would get in touch with your vet and monitor your dog closely to make sure everything is moving through normally.

I think rubbing vicks on his chest is a little out of date. From your description it sounds like your son needs a doctor, not a forum of people with all kinds of advice. Sounds like he could have whooping cough, pleurisy etc. We're talking about your son here, I think a doctor would be the best bet for him. You must be worried or you wouldn't ask for our advice. Even if you waste a trip to the doc's isn't your son that important o you?
