Hi everyone,

I'm brand new to this site and unfortunately my reason for signing up today is to find a new home for my beloved terrier cross Axl.

Axl is 5 years old, wire haired, boisterous, intelligent and cheeky. He was handed in to the vet clinic where i was a nurse aged only 3 days old, along with his littermates. They had been left in a bin! only feet away from the clinic doors and if the binman hadn't heard them squeaking that would have been the end of them!. Luckily tho he heard them, did the right thing and for the next 7 weeks i had the time of my life hand rearing them. When it came time to send them to the rescue centre i just couldn't bear to part with my little terror.

He's been an amazing friend over the last five years and has seen me thru some tough times with an ever wagging tail, so it is now breaking my heart that i can't keep him as i have developed a pretty severe allergy to him, just 5 minutes in the same room as him sends me into a full blown asthma attack and i swell up like a tomatoe, not very attractive i know! I can only link this development to the birth of my 1st child as before i had Lu Axl and I were always together and i didn't sneeze once. Anyway I'm rambling now.

Axl needs a very special and experienced owner. He is a very rewarding dog to own but has a few quirks due to bad experiences in the past. He is generally good with children, he is very protective and playfull with my 2 year old daughter and 9 year old step-son, i would however only consider homes with no children or experienced children over 10 years old, the reason for this is Axl has bitten one of my friends simply because the man didn't understand the dogs body language (also Axl growls when he's playing and James couldn't tell the differance between a play growl and an "i'm gonna bite you growl"). I would never trust any dog 100% with children but i feel especially strongly about not placing a dog who has bitten into a potentially provocative situation.

Ideally i would want Axl to have a new home where at least on person was at home most of the day. He can be left alone and is never destructive and never soils indoors, but he loves company, he's at his happiest just lying at your feet, knowing you're near. He needs lots of exercise, at the moment he gets 3 half hour walks off the lead every day. He also needs to be walked on grass as he doesn't like to soil in the garden or on concrete and will become constipated if left too long.

I could go on for pages and pages but from the information above, if you think you could give this gorgeous boy a new home, please get in touch.

Thank you for taking the time to read this

Ax
