Hi,
I have a 14 week old labrador bitch who is refusing to walk on a lead.
We have had her from 8 weeks and let her out into our large garden a number of times throughout the day. We then started walking her around the garden on the lead (before she had her final injections) to get her used to it. After her final injections we attempted to take her out on the lead but she refused to budge. If we put the lead on in the house she won't even go into the garden. I have tried treats & rewarding her for even a few steps but she still refuses to move - I end up dragging her into the garden then giving up.
Today I carried her up the road and when she refused to walk I dropped the lead and walked away (I live on a very quiet country lane). She then followed very slowly for a bit then sat down. I eventually got her home not using the lead (although it was still attached) by calling and acting the fool but progress was very slow.
Any ideas or suggestions would be very much appreciated.
