Hi. I am Juanita from Ashland Wisconsin. A few weeks ago we rescued a mini doxie. She is 4 and has a very abusive past. I was wondering if any one could give me any advice on how to help her get used to my husband. She is terrified of males and rightly so. She is to the point that in bed at night she will curl up next to him as long as she can't see his face. I know this is progress but I worry that I am not doing enough to make it happen in the daytime. Any advice, please! Thank you.

the essence is time, love and understanding. encourage your hubby to feed, treet and reward her at every given situation, for him to come on walks with you and eventually take her him self. dont force the two together, if your hubby wants to have a relationship with her it will work and be very rewarding for you all but it all has to be in her time and not forced situations which make her unconfortable.
ensure your hubby approaches her side ways on low down and never leaning over her as all dogs find this intimidating and threatening as this is how an aggresive dog would approach other dogs to intimidate them and therefore dogs read our body language the same. all the best.
