I got home from school, only to be tackled by a brown and black furry puppy.
It was just after Christmas, and I had gotten my beautiful little rottweiler puppy named Jewel, from the mark on her neck shaped in a necklace pattern. Of course, I being only about nine years old then, didn't understand just how special this dog really was.
I was a hurt little girl, always in pain and scared of everything, because of my mother. Jewel, I believe, knew this, which shows just how smart dogs are. My Guardian Angel, as I now call her, saved me from many physical and mental pains.
As one example, when my mother tried to grab me, my wonderful dog Jewel, grabbed on to her wrist, not hurting her, and growled. My mother never touched me after that when Jewel was around. She once saved me from me from nearly running in between a mother moose and her baby, which, if you don't know, is extremely dangerous.
I now, being older, understand what this dog taught me, as I no longer am scared of my shadow. She taught me more than any mother, as I had no father then, ever could. Now, you may currently think, soooooo, what did this dog teach you? She taught me life, in that doggie way, she taught me never to run and hide when I'm scared (unless it's a moose), and more. Jewel was my teacher in life, my rock to stand on when hurt. I only had this wonderful dog for two years, but I will never forget the things she taught me. My mother got tired of Jewel stopping her from hurting me, and let Jewel go. I pain to this day for that beautiful bundle of over happy, joyful, bundle of fur, named Jewel, My Guardian Angel.
