National Sheepdog Finals

I am going to volunteer at the National Sheepdog Finals in Klamath Fall, OR. this weekend. By volunteering, I hope to gain valuable insight into the culture of the border collie herding community. I will also be able to learn by watching some of the best in the country. For anyone considering taking up a particular competitive activity, it is a good idea to go to a competition in person so you can get a feel for the type of people who engage in the sport and the tempo and competitiveness of the activity.

The Nationals were awesome. I volunteered at the VIP tent so I got to see all of the competiton while working. I met lots of knowledgeable people that explained the competition to me step by step. The Western States Regional Championships will be held in Auburn, CA on Nov. 10-12. It is on our calendar. I am going to be volunteering at that trial also. We will put up as many herding trials as we can find on the calendar from all over the world.;)
