Hello to all mt fellow dog lovers!!!!
My name is Pamela and I am new to this forum... I hope I can get a hang of it soon :D
In the pictures is my sweet but "crazy" boy.
he is a 7month old Border Collie cross... I really don't have a clue what the other part is....
I found him walking alone on the side of the road near a farm.. in the middle of winter. He was in very bad shape... and too young not to have his mother. I could not resist and so I took him in arms and have never let go.

Oh Pamela, Pamela. What a fabulous looking dog. And if just one unwanted dog out of the tens of thousands that must exist across the world is given a life worthy of that description, then I am a happier man today.
Thank you very much for the picture and for your act of kindness.

LOL
He sort of looks like a penguin--LOL
Well... In ragards to the temperment he is a working progress--- Very smart and full of stamina-- My boy can run all day without stopping--
He adores the water-- I am sometimes scared because he will run from shore and then swim further out and further out--
He is a little timid- as all border collies usually are-- and he is a little protective--
He is very intelligent and an amazing listener-- he learns things very fast and his response to commands are impressive---
He thrives on obedience and activities that are ultra active--- a 2hr walk is not enough--
you can teach him anything you want and he will learn it fast and precise--
The only problem i have with him is that he is a little cautions of people he doesn't now-- specially men-- He doesn't like people to apporach him too quickly as he likes to be the one to initate the hello--
He is also not interested in other dogs and he doesn't like them to approach him-- but if other dogs are around-- he just ignores them unless they get to close and then he will bark to get them to go away--
I don't usually have him off leash in places that are busy because, like I said he is timid and proctective---
He adores me-- I swear he thinks I am his mother-- he will never leave my side and he follows me around everywhere-- Thats my problem as he will NOT allow anyone else to handle his leash-- it's weird-
If i pass the leash on to somebody else -- he will stop, lie down, turn over, and cry--- He is so silly--
I try to work on the socializing but it's a working progress-- I don't think he will ever be ultra friendly dog-- it's his personality-- I don't care as long as he just ignores everything around except me-- LOL
He is a character but I love him-- and I can deal with him just as he is--
I am working hard on the training because I don't want him ever turning fear agressive--
It's hard with rescues--
he needed his mother and siblings to build his confidence and teach him how to play, and how to behave, --
That's were it's been hard-- I'm the one to have to teach him these things-- but he is very smart!!!

Wow Pamela, very stunning I must say. I would not have been able to drive by either. I found one of mine on the street too. She's about 6 now and starting to look her age.

Thanks for the description of your dog. He sounds like a interesting fella!! He looks very bright and smart-for sure. My dog is shy with strangers as well. She was socialized until I was blue in the face. Cagney is uneasy when people try to touch her-tries to hide behind my back. If I encourage her to approach someone on the sidewalk..it has to be on her terms. Never aggressive-just cautious. I think because shes smart she doesn't get why she needs to let someone touch her she doesn't know. She is nervous around strange men, hats, backpacks, raincoats (very odd).

Your dog looks like it might have part grayhound or something in it, it has the stand & slim features of grayhound.
