infected anal glands

Has anyone had or heard of anyone who has had to have their dogs anal glands removed? My dog, Snoopy, has had lots of problems with his and infections, now they want to remove them. I have changed his diet 4 times. He just doesn't seem to be able to drain them himself at all.. HELP!!

I was watching Dirty JObs, and he was cleaning out anal glands. So gross, but they said it had to be done or else it could cause trouble!:p

Its not the worst job in the world I do it for any customer that needs it done - I can certainly think of worse things to do!!:D
