i am hoping that I can get some feedback on this. I have 2 labs, Beauford(Ford for short) and Gunner. We live in Northern Minnesota where it has already gotten below zero. My dogs live in the house, but LOVE to be outside as much as possible. When it gets to cold, I always see them lifting paws because they are cold (they STILL don't want to come in tho) so I made them some fleece lined denim dog boots. Now they can stay out longer. I have been contract sewing from my home since 1985. I would really like to start sewing these to sell along with some coats for dogs, but I'm not sure if it would be a good seller. What are your thoughts on this?

Thank You!

Sandy

Welcome Sandy j913!!! When I lived in Pennsylvania and Iowa, I would buy fleece boots from sled dog sites. If I were you, I would check out those sites and see what they sell for recreational winter activities. How they make them, what they make them from, and the cost. What I found was that most places that see such booties make them for bigger feet. So there is probably a market for them for people just walking their dogs etc. in your area. You would know more about the market there. As a So. CAL native, I never wanted to live any further north than Iowa:) But I always hiked in the winter and passed those fleece boots out to all of my friends that had dogs. Good luck. Keep us posted. Anyone else out there from the cold country that can give her some insight?
