Praziquantel has now been approved for non-prescription OTC sell by the FDA, and is primarily used against parasites known as "Cestodes" (tapeworms). The common tapeworm of dogs and cats, dipyllidium caninum (carried by fleas), is most often the problem needing treated, though Praziquantel is also effective against less common types of tapeworms such as Taenia, and the more dangerous Mesocestoides, species. Praziquantel is also effective against flukes. Other tapewormers do not kill all these types, and Safeguard or Panacur does not kill the common tapeworm, dipyllidium caninum (carried by fleas), found in pets. The exact same Praziquantel is used in dogs, cats, fish, horses, sheep, goats, and many other animals, but doses vary by species.

Some people treat their pets for tapeworms routinely, at least once or twice a year. However, treatment when tapeworms are indicated in fecal deposits is best. You might sometimes see white rice-like segments around the anus of the pet at times, or you might not see these but observe small (1/4 inch long or so) white narrow segments in the stool. These may be seen to slowly move, contracting then expanding in length. These tapeworms grow to about six inches long in the small intestine - only small segments are excreted. However, your pet may not show a sign of tapeworms, and yet have them - keep looking at different times for they may show just occasionally.

I will send anyone on this site, anywhere in the world, enough Praziquantel to treat 225 pounds of pets for $2 including shipment, paid by paypal or check. send me an email if interested. Use the drop down menu from left-clicking on my name above my avatar.

Yep, I'm making millions selling Praziquantel at less than my costs.

My offer to provide Praziquantel at below my cost is officially withdrawn - don't need such a reponse to my well intentioned public service effort.

Before I provide Praziquantel, I send a full description of how to use it, advising not to use it on nursing mothers, on puppies less than 4 weeks old, on kittens less than 1.5 pounds, or on old and debilitated or unhealthy animals. Otherwise having a Vet exam before worming is like going to a physician before taking aspirin. Over the counter wormers are very safe except for using Ivermectin with sheep-herding dog breeds (where about 35 percent have a genetically based tendency to react to Ivermectin).

Art what is your background? Your information is very good about the product and how to give? Without knowing that you could see how people would think you are just spamming. Although I know that you have made some very informative and thoughtful posts. If you have a business, I would recommend putting a link on the links page:)

Anyone with genuine concern for their pet would know about the existence of tapeworms, and should have had one or more pets treated for it in the past.

Thus, anyone with genuine concern for their pet would know the cost of Praziquantel treatment, the very best tapewormer available (used in humans as well as animals), and would know my supplying enough to treat twenty cats, shipped to anywhere in the world, for $2 USD, would result eventually in my financial ruin.

My interest in people having healthy pets far exceeds this same interest on the part of pet owners on this site. Not only have I been accused of scamming, I have offered free wormer (including free shipping) to one person posting here, and free wormer (except for shipping and handling costs) to another poster here, and these two offers were not taken advantage of.

What kind of people neglect the health of their pet to the point of refusing free wormer that can only help and not hurt the pet?

As far as my background - that is irrelevant. Ideas should always be judged on the basis of their content. I have no pet-related business other than to assist some of those engaged in pet-rescue efforts. I have myself done voluntary pet rescue in the past.
