dog has a torn ACL and cannot go up/down our stairs. We live in a bi-level so our living area & rooms arer upstairs. Any suggestions?

The last few years of my brother's Small shih tzu's life was spent being carried up and downstairs.
Is this a permanent condition that your dog has? How about a ramp over the steps?
I plan to install a stair lift in my home for my cocker and myself. I know that the stairs will be a problem for both of us. My mom had one in her house and it was great for getting laundry downstairs for her and getting her back up.

I have recently spoken with many cocker owners who have had this problem. They mentioned that their dogs had the surgery and are doing well after it. Have you been offered this option?
