A few questions come to mind ....

* How long has this mass been on his hind leg?
* Has it just started to seep today?
* Is the dog in pain?

Im not a vet so I couldn't be sure of the probem. If the dog is in pain or if it continues to bleed, I suggest that you call the animal hospital and get the dog some medical care right away. After all, if it was a child, you woudn't wait until Monday ...... right?

It may be a toomer, in that case you may be able to put a compress or a bandage on it to keep it from seeping, but you will need to keep the dog quite and change the bandage every so often.

If you are not sure, dont guess .... get the dog to the vet right away!!!!

Wishing the best for you and your dog!!!

I cant give you advice, and I dont think anyone on here is qualified to do it either, (unless there are some vets on here i dont know of).

You need to call your vet or a pet ER thats open 24/7 and talk to them. If you cant get to a vet till monday, they can probably tell you what to do over the phone till then.

Maybe as BetterDog said, keeping her still and quiet would be a good idea for a start, but thats all i can say.

Sorry, but I wouldnt want to advise you incorrectly, talk to a vet.

Good luck,
Danielle.

I agree witheveryone else. My dog has a mass on her tail(recent). I had it tested and it was not malignant. But I was told if it burst to get her to the vet right away because it could get infected or in your case maybe infected. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Sounds like an abcess to me. Has your dog had any injuries in that area lately. Another dog bite him or maybe got jabbed and got a puncture. You will need to take him to the vet so it can be drained and put him on some meds. Good luck.
