well we are expecting a litter of pups very soon and thought if any one was interested i would post a picture diary of the whelping and the pups till they go to their new homes. mum is Daimler and dad is caito. i own both of them, they are both hip scored, dna tested for vonwhilbrands and phvp eye tested this litter will be their last as daimler will be spayed after this as i dont belive dogs should be used as breeding machines, this will be her second litter, and caito will only be used if i think the bitch is something special but i prefer if he didn't i dont want to dilute blood lines and that would happen if studs are used too much.

Congrats, Mine are due in three days. I am a nervous wreck. I keep thinking what if I am sleeping and I don't hear. What if something goes wrong? Probably just first litter nerves.

i am sure every thing will be fine, i have found you simply get a sixth sence that she is about to whelp and she will start to show signs that the pups are due any moment when that happens just stay with her and watch try not to interven too much let nature do its own thing unles she looks like she is having problems, have you warned your vet she only has three days it's always better to tell them now so they will be prepared i know my vet gives me a ring once a day to check on things until the pupps arrive, i then take mum and babies for a check up at three days to make sure all is ok with them all. a great bok to have is the book of the bitch it's my bible when i am having a litter it covers every thing.

My vets clinic has been so wonderful. I called them the other day and said that Dalyce was breathing heavy. They took her in later that day. She got an x-ray, they did three because the picture to them was fuzzy. To me it was beautiful. I almost started criing. Then when I came out everyone was looking at me and I announced the number. Lots of ooo's and ahhh's. If I call them they will be there for me. The vet reasurred me though that he beleives that everything will go smooth.
I also got a book even before we bred the dogs. It's called the complete guide to dog breeding. It was written by a vet. I has everything in it too. You know just nerves that's all. Thanks for your reassurance.

we are reaching our last week before the pups due, who do i know except for just keeping to the dates well here it is the pups have dropped down, dims teats are swelling, she decided she nolonger wanted to share her room with caito and told him so in only a pregnant dog can do so he is now with faith. dims is digging and nesting and happy to be in a room by herself visited regularily by me. we have a bed in the corner of the room heat lamp over it, stack of news paper but at the moment all is still quiet daimler still eating and just happy to lounge about.:)

Are you excited? I was so nervous but everything has turned out so well. Even the little black and white runt is not such a runt. Mommy dog is so good to them. What an awesome experience. I hope all goes well with your babies and I am very excited to see pictures. We can probably swap pictures back and forth.

Well i told you all no sign yesterday, and Dims showed no sign today so i went out for the day family get together my nieces 21st you know how it is, i come home tonightand are met withthe usual howels of mummy's home let us in out feed us, go to Daimlers room she barking for food i go in she is there saying feed me mummy im hungry and then i here a whimper and there in the whelping bed four hugh pups 2 boys 2 girls, no blood in sight, no pacenta's, all pups clean and dry dims eat her supper, has a drink goes back to the bed and starts to suckle the pups on about a pro, so sorry folks no pics of the whelp she done it all her self i will put some pics on tomorrow :D the pups weigh, 3lb 4oz, 3lb 2oz, 2lb 8 oz and 2lb 6oz. all black and tan no cleft pallets all strong and can crawl around nicely.:D

well the pups doing well they are suckling well and crawling around the bed, got some pics of the first hours will be posted when i get to transfer them. i am poopped but Dims doing great, eating drinking, cleaning, feeding and cuddling. she is such a good mummy, she even tries to take the pups out of my hand and put them back in the bed with her. she loves me lying next to her and stroking and keeps nudging me if i nod off. just thinking of some kennel names and theme for their registration, they all will have the affix dobetazit but need a theme so please chip in with ideas i think i will put up a thread for ideas.
