hey guys...sorry if you've been asked this before but whats all the fuss about this guy..over here in england he is relatively new to tv but am hearing and reading some shocking stuff about dogs dying in his care and law suits. from watching the tv show i doubt he would deliberately do anything to harm one of our canine friends. Some, not all, of his techniques have worked wonders with my rescue lab. any up to date info? just curious.

I haven't heard or seen anything. I doubt that he would do anything like that either.

i dont watch him often but my friend does and thinks he is great i have not heard about dogs dying in his care but i do think with all these trainers you can take bits of each one and use the technics that suite you :)

i thought so..just put it down to the rumour mill and media getting things wrong again...i like some of his techniques not all...i suppose its all down to finding what works for your dog and what doesn't. some dogs (especially rescue ones like mine) have issues with all sorts of things so the training has to be tailored to suit. My lucy cant cope with a rattle bottle,,,the noise sends her into a frenzy. She ate the clicker!!! Gentle affermation and rewarding good behaviour is gradually doing the trick...its no instant fix but we are getting there.

I have somthing about me that dogs like as there is somthing about all dogs I like. Im no expert. I have trained dogs for people and I have rescued/rehab some. I am sitting 6 dogs at this time and noticed I made the rules of our walks on day one and get better results then the owners. I feel that what you see, the magic if you will with ceaser working others dogs is because of basic knowlage and him being new to the dog unknown. Its easer to start if you are unformiliar

Well I dont like him but I've never heard about dogs dying in his care either, where did you hear this from? Wonder if we can get any concrete sources to verify or discredit this information.

He has been sued for injuring dogs, but I am unsure whether any have actually died under his care.

'Dog Whisperer' Cesar Millan sued by TV producer

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A television producer is suing dog trainer Cesar Millan, star of TV's The Dog Whisperer, claiming that his Labrador retriever was injured at Millan's training facility after being suffocated by a choke collar and forced to run on a treadmill.

In a lawsuit filed Thursday in Superior Court, 8 Simple Rules producer Flody Suarez says he took 5-year-old Gator to the Dog Psychology Center on Feb. 27 to deal with fears of other dogs and strangers.

Hours after dropping the dog off at the facility, Suarez claimed a worker called to inform him the animal had been rushed to a veterinarian. He later found the dog "bleeding from his mouth and nose, in an oxygen tent gasping for breath and with severe bruising to his back inner thighs," the lawsuit claims.

The facility's workers allegedly placed a choke collar on the dog, pulled him onto a treadmill and forced him to "overwork." Suarez says he spent at least $25,000 on medical bills and the dog must undergo more surgeries for damage to his esophagus.

A call to the Dog Psychology Center, also named as a defendant, was not immediately returned. A spokesman for National Geographic Channel, which airs Millan's show, declined comment.

"As of this time, the National Geographic Channel has not been served with either lawsuit, and we do not comment on pending litigation," said Russell Howard, the channel's vice president of communications.

The complaint claims breach of contract, fraud, animal cruelty and intentional infliction of emotional distress, among other allegations. It seeks more than $25,000 in damages.

I agree with most of his concepts (exercise, training, effection), (packleader) etc .... but i personally have issues with some of his methods.

That being said, I'm still willing to give him the benefit of the doubt until i here the outcome of the lawsuit. Since this is the only time (that I know of) that this kind of thing has happened, it may have been a freek thing. I'm sure we have all had "freek" things happen in out lives that have never re-ocurred since.

I MUST admit that the phrase: "forced him to overwork" bothers me because it can mean almost anything!!!

The only reason he seems so great is because more "success" stories are aired rather than the failure... I personally don't think he's much different than any other behavioralist, its just the media that makes him seem so great... ah whatever...
