I recently aquired one to 'fakebake'..and make it seem like your house smells like you just baked an apple pie before you have company over..it's really easy and works REALLY well.

Simmer a pot of water with cinnamon and apple slices on the stove! It instantly makes the whole house smells delicious!

Alsoo..put a couple sponges in a bowl with vanilla extract and sort of 'hide' them around a room. Makes it smell soo good! =]

Also, did you know the secret to making your house look really clean without having to REALLY clean it, is a clean an empty kitchen/bathroom sink, fixed pillows on a couch, and a made bed.. and it instantly looks clean!?

I'm interested in hearing anything you guys have come across over the years and whatnot, so maybe I can try them.. My fiance and I just adore having a good smelling and clean apartment!

ROFL!!! I'm guessing that is what you do when you are raised thinking that "cleaning your room" means stuffing everything in the closet or under the bed, huh!?!LOL

What I do to make our house "look" clean is just vaccuum! Pick up any things that are on the floor, as for making the room smell good? I just put powder on the floor before vaccuuming. Clean dishes make the kitchen look nice. Thats about it here!

I always let my room get so dirty so bad for like a week or so then I go into a cleaning frenzy for 1 day, cleaning every nook and crany...then it goes back to being dirty very slowly over time till it is so terrible...this cycle repeats!

Loose dog hair makes me crazy. I don't mind the fluff that turns into dust bunnies under the bed so much, but the loose stuff just floating around in the air, that drives me bonkers. I have 3 air filters and I vacuum the dogs, the bed, and the floors every morning and every evening. The dogs don't mind...they stand in line for it. I don't think there's any other solution for it, not with so many dogs, but I wish there were! If anyone has hot tip, let me know!
I don't usually spiff up for company that's just dropping by, but go all out and clean behind the furniture a couple of times a month anyway.

I find that clean floors can make or break you. If the floors aren't clean it makes the whole place look dirty. Also if you have carpet, dirty carpet can harbor odors.

I whole heartedly agree with you!!! Didn't think about air filters, I'll have to get some!

Here, I don't do anything. My mom use to clean the basement but she gave up. My dad started smoking in the bathroom and my mom got peeved off and so we said two can play that game, we aint cleaning the basment at all he wants to be a jerk, we will make him deal with dog hair and smell lol.

For upstairs, my mom is picky about how it looks. I don't do any of the cleaning just wash dishes. She does it all. My room, I make my bed, throw whatever is on the floor in the closet, lol! I am getting better at it though.

Tart burners really work with stuff and to get stains out of carpet I use fantastic and it works!

So, I don't have a basement, I just have Brigit that eats anything that falls on the floors. So, my floors are clean, but every available table surface is covered with everything! LOL!

oohhh. I made my own fabric refresher today, that works really really well in cars and on carpets..and isn't like over the top perfumey..

1/4 fabric softener 1/4 favorite detergent 1/2 water in a spray bottle.. makes the smell stick on the fabric, smells AMAZING and keeps stuff clean, too!

Also, if you spray your favorite perfume on a lightbulb a minute before you turn it on, the heat from the lightbulb will warm the smell up and leave the smell lingering in the room!
