I have a 9 month old Shiba Inu. She growls at my two daughters when they enter the room, pet her or get when they get between my wife and I and the dog. My daughters are 11 and 8 years old. Looking for sound advice!!

This type of behavior can escalate if not handled properly. Sometimes is best in these situations to get a trainer who also has behavioral training. They can then work with the dog and teach all of you how to deal with the dog in a consistent and effective manner.:D

Sounds like a dominance issue get ur kids to be firm when the dog is growling and just shout no at the dog or use a set of keys and everytime the dog growles drop the keys on the floor and things like make the kids walk tho a door befor the dog, make sure the kids are fed befor the dog and only when the plates are cleared to the kitchen then feed the dog.

You and your kids definitely have to be firm and get a grip on this behavior. It will only get worse if you don't deal with it. It cannot be aloud. Like said before a dog behavioralist be be a great tool.
