I got salmon oil to put on my dogs food, its great for their coat and heart, and makes them go mad for the food.

My dogs used to be picky about their food too, even with canned, they were doing the same thing as your pup. It will help his coat and you will notice less shedding...=) I also recomend Tripe or the brand Before Grain canned meats for dogs :)
And no it doesnt make their breath smell like salmon...hehe.

I have my dogs on Nutro (Sensitive Stomach) once again. My boston terrier mix, is very allergic to Science Diet. He broke out in hives yesterday. Nutro has only a small amount of ingerents in it. Hope that helps.

I feed all three of mine Nutro as well, the Nutro Naturals Venison and whole Brown Rice. They seem to be doing very well on it, even Sugar who is allergic to just about everything.
IMO, Science Diet is terrible food. My dogs did terrible on it, in fact Jessie flat out refused to eat it, and I have heard so many bad things about it.

nutro, guilpa or james wellbeloved are good diets for allergic pets stick with the diet though if they become picky or he will dictate his diet all the time and you will not find a food he will stick with

Any dog food that uses real meat as #1 ingredient and has a short list of good food is great (always read lables...). I used to think Science Diet was the cat's meow, now I have learned its basically the same as any other store bought dog food, corn as a main ingredient.
I feed my dog Flint River Ranch dog food, and switch out between the fish and chips (thats suppose to be the most non-alergenic type of food for dogs) and the chicken...and put in before grain canned (half teaspon) for supper and for breakfast i do the salmon oil because its faster to deal with in the hustle of the morning.
thats just the thing i need for my dogs, all fussy eaters. so this salmon oil do i just mix it with the dry food and where do i get it many thanks for th tip

There is nothing wrong with Science Diet. And by the way, the first and main ingredient is lamb meal, not corn. As for Nutro, a number of dogs have died recently eating it. Nutro issists there is no problem and refuses to recall it.
I suggest those of you with picky eaters check your dog's weight. Your dog definitely should be narrower at the waist than the hips and chest. You should be able to easily feel the ribs, but not see them. Each dog is different. Standard recommendations are a good place to start, but each dog must have its food and exercise adjusted to its individual needs. Here is a link to a good illustrated guide, http://www.longliveyourdog.com/twoplus/RateYourDog.aspx
Overweight is far more dangerous than any of the ingredients in any commercial dog chow.
