I think that you need to talk to them about it being illegal and that they can got to jail for that. If they try sending you song downloads, I wouldn't accept them. If they don't listen to you and say they won't get caught then I would let it go. Sometimes you have to let people learn the hard way. I think it is sad they are doing that, ripping the artist off.

I agree 100% if they convicate the persons PC they see that they sent you one im sure that you can get in trouble for it too. I have friends who download it illeagly and they think that they wont be caught. That is sad. Today, stealing songs, tomorrow bank robbery.

Depends on how they obtained the music. Limewire is technically a computer to computer way of sharing music. You can download other peoples songs that they have on their comp if they allow others to see what they have. I think sharing is fine.
Now if they hacked into some system and stole the music or if it was a bootleg copy of a song that hasn't been released or something - that's illegal.

I'd go online and report them to the FBI online fraud center. They investigate things like that.

yeah because these artists are sooo poor  what would they do without their millions they wouldnt be able to buy that extra house, or their drugs and alcohol. I am not saying stealing isn't wrong, but somethings wrong when your police, paramedics, and firefighters who save your lives dont make very much at all.

Acutally your incorrect when it comes to who gets the money when you buy a song. I have been into music for years and I plan into getting into songwriting and I know about this stuff. When you buy a song or a CD the money dont all go to the singer. The money goes to the producer, the music corrdanator, song writer, recoard company and ect. Everyone who was apart of the song and made it what it is has to be paid. I am pretty sure they are not as rich as the singer and not as struck with fame as the singer. I just wanted to point that out and I do agree with you about the everyday heroes.

To be honest, I believe a lot more people do it than not. Me personally, I prefer to buy my songs from iTUNES as that is the only way I know how to download music anyways and I know it is legal.

Very true. The singer isn't the only one getting paid for a song. They have to pay the people for the record label and for using there equipment to make the CD possible. Plus when you buy a CD from the store, some of the money goes to the store for commission for them handling the CD in their store. It is a big process and I do agree that singers are over-paid and our local everyday heroes should be recognized a lot more then they are.
