PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) - One family-owned grooming business in Pender County is painting the town pink, well, at least the dogs.
They're giving new hair styles to pooches for breast cancer awareness month. It's not just to make a fun statement - it's to remind women to keep an eye on their health. Although the pink dog tails might seem strange to some, this business has a family story that is serious. When owner, Jacqueline Parker's mother died, she moved in with her aunt and cousin. That cousin, who Jacqueline considers to be a sister, was diagnosed with breast cancer.
