Steak & Chicken

I just don't trust processed foods and my dogs will not eat dry food at all. We feed them Steak and alternate with chicken along with vitamins. Is it good for them our Miss daisy is going on 18 years old and the vet said she's as healthy as a horse and her heart is very strong. She's no light weight, probably about 125lbs, as she has gotten older her activity rate has dropped considerably so she's put on some extra pounds. She can still put Mike in his place when he antagonizes her.

Wow, she's HUGE!!! Your Vet says that's normal? Im in no way judging here, but when Neka put on enough weight that he couldnt see her waist he put her on a diet for two months in order for her to loose 8 pounds. She was only 72 lbs.

I hope its just the angle of the photo, but I cant even see her waist or her hips in that picture.

No the Vet didn't say she was normal she's overweight but at her age it's the lack of exercise and not what she's eating except for the Milk Bones my wife keeps giving her. My wife does want to deny her anything because she doesn't have too much more time.

Nice old age for sure so must be doing something right. But - yeah my vet would have a cow seeing all that weight. I was sooo embarrassed when he called Monte obese at 30 pounds! 30 pounds is good for a Cocker!

That makes more sence ... Your comment: "the vet said she's as healthy as a horse and her heart is very strong" kind of threw me!!!

She's had a great life to have live 18 years! Im sorry to hear that she doesn't have too much more time.

She's a wonderful old lady, but she's loaded with tumors, a lot of what you see as fat are large fatty tumors but she also has some cacerous ones and because of her age they will not make an attempt to remove them and they are growing fast. We will keep her alive as long as we can but will not make her suffer, even though we will miss her dearly.
