I have a new pit mastiff mix i got yesterday. He is 9 months old. He acts like he has been beat cause he cowers when i raise my hand. I have cats and kittens and he likes to chase them orplay to hard with them if they dont run. Is there any way to break him of that without scaring him. He also doesnt want to settle down. He is on and off the bed constantly. I dont know how to get him settled in and keep my cats and kittens safe and to show him not everyone wil be mean to him

I realize it's been a couple of months since you posted and you've probably given up on checking for a response. But just in case you do, look up NILIF, or Nothing In Life Is Free. It's easy to understand and follow. Wishing you luck with your dog!
