3 Newsletters I Recommend

Here are some good Newsletters that you can subscribe to that have valuable information based on research on training, nutrition, health, etc.

The Whole Dog Journal
Dog Watch
Your Dog

They come every month. For those of you that train or breed or help in rescues, these would be valuable education tools. I also recommend if you train to become a member of APDT

you do not have to have a certification but you will have lots of resources at your fingertips.

Thumbs up Whole Dog Journal

I have read this for years. It is one of the best information on dog foods. At one time they were featuring a question and answer column by Ian Billinghurst, the Australian veterinarian that developed the BARF (bones and raw food) diet for dogs. Which i started using.

just found this thread k9...thanks for the info.

i read your dog magazine every month and find it full of great, unbiased reports on recent events. excellent articles (some of which i have transposed in my threads) and useful contact numbers. i am shortly to apply for the APDT course and hope to go the whole way to accreditation. there are several rescues near me who have expressed an interest in having a qualified trainer on board to help with the rehabilitation of the dogs so there may even be a career change involved!!

My loyal friend forever in sunshine

I used to subscribe to all three. Things have been a bit tight for the last year, so had to give up some things. I miss them, though...I think they're all great and plan to subscribe again when things settle down.

Thanks for the heads-up on the ADPT. I will check that out for future reference!

Bubba at play during a break from training. Mary is in the background.
