paint mess!!!

So I get this brilliant idea to paint the door, it is a steel unpainted grey door. I get out the white paint I had left from when I painted the trim in the bedroom. (almost a full gallon of paint left!) Of course i figure I am just painting the door I dont need to put any plastic down right? So while painting the phone rings I go answer it while I was going into the living room Belle decides she must come with me and see what the noise is all about. She runs up against the freshly painted door white on one side now, out of frustration I yell NO Belle she turns and goes back the way she came now she is white on both sides!! Then when I go back to the kitchen after ansewring the phone I forgot i left the can setting in the middle of the floor I now have about a half a gallon of paint on my laminated floor! I surronded the paint with paper towels to keep it from spreading and put the x-pen around it to keep the dogs from walking through it. I am hoping if I let it dry I will be able to peel it up. I hate paint!!

Good luck. The laminate may be coated with a urethane or something a latex paint won't stick to. Of course, ever toenail scuff will help the adhesion.

oh no... what a mess you've described It may be a very funny story later if the paint all peels off of the floor and wears off of Belle. For now, it sounds awfully frustrating. Like Labman said, good luck

OH, by the way, vegetable oils are a safe, effective paint remover.

I got most of it to scrape off. There a couple of tough spots I will have to work at. I will have to try the veggie oil!

Love it when the dogs decide to *help* me paint! Thankfully I like pastels and the dogs are all something n white. Nice when Merlin - a chocolate/white wanted to help me paint my kitchen yellow...
