Thanks for the info. We call him Crabie he is a sort of pet, at least a form of entertainment. If you lift up your arms to scare him he'll do the same. Does anyone have a sister for my friend Crabie?! lol

We have nuclear bugs here in FL. They scare me. In Wi we never had anything like it. Check out the picture of the huge grasshopper.

this may sound funny but I am very superstitious when it comes to crickets. If there is one in the house and I lure it into my hands and take it outside and set it free. *knock on wood* I always have atleast one good thing happen to me the next day.

:P hahaha, I feel bad for your sister dogsrme. I use to always touch worms now I get grossed out. Your a mean brother to do that but yet it is funny.

For bugs and flies and spiders, Star is my offical but catcher He will snap at bees, flies and he spots out spiders on the floor.

As a former Arachnophobic, I vote for keeping non-poisonous spiders around for all the good they do.

I realized that being a gardener and fearing spiders was rather ludicrous, so I opted to desensitize myself to spiders. I worked up from those little tiny red spider mites to larger and larger models by reading about them and realizing the little ones didn't even have fangs long enough to bite me. The jumping spiders are reluctant to bite anything that doesn't LOOK like their prey or a rival and wolf spiders are very non-aggressive. I've been handling the non-web spiders for years and watching the others in webs in my garden and have yet to be bitten.

Makes life a lot less stressful to eliminate a phobia that made me crazy for all my life

Wow your brave, I'm arachnophobic and myriopodophobic (centipedes) so I wouldn't be able to do that, too many bad expriences from early childhood.

Bart just in case you were still wondering, besides the possibility of it being an Orb Weaver, I would have suggested that it was the Common House Spider, there are many around here and they aren't poisounous, as a matter of fact I believe that the only two lethal spiders that live in the USA is the Black Widow and the Brown Recluse. Other spiders can deliver a painful bite but they can't kill you. If your in Australia, I think you'd have to be more careful, I believe there are more lethal species there. Hehehe how sad that I know this and am terrified of spiders
