Lexcee in Hospital

Lexcee has been in the vet hospital since last night. I was there all night and had to work all day, but went back to be with her for a few hours. She was throwing up all day and seemed to have a fever, so I took her to the vet.

It is now 9pm Friday night and just got a call from the vet telling me that she has Tonsillitis!!!! OMG I never knew dogs could suffer from that. Tonight they are starting her on meds and if they help she will not have to have surgery. Apparently it is rare that they have to do surgery for it, thank God.

Please pray for her, to be honest I am terrified, after losing Giz & Rylie I know I could not take it if anything happened to her.

Has anyone had a dog with this condition, if so how did it come out.

Thanks for being there guys. Hugs Susan

Wow, I never knew they could suffer from that either...

Please take some time for yourself and get some rest. You cant help Lexcee if you are sick or burned out.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and Lexcee. Give her hugs and kisses from Neka and Patchs (and from me of course)

Please keep us up to date on her condition.

Oh my turf, I haven't been on so I didn't see this. Oh, my poor baby Lex. Give her lots of kisses from us.
I know she will pull through cause she's a fighter like her mama.
Never heard of any dog getting that. I would ask how she may have gotten it? Air?
All the best wishes and prayers.
Love you Lex. Get well soon

Thank you Michael and Tereh I appreciate your thoughts for my little princess. I never got a chance to ask the vet how she got this, I was shocked to hear it in the first place. I will when I go back in the morning. She looks so sad and I just hated leaving her but I did take her fav toy doggie and blanket so she will feel better. Thanks again guys Susan

That's so good she will have her favorite things. I would also include a shirt that belongs to you, make sure it's one you haven't washed.
It will comfort her to have your smell near.
When will she be home?

Just spoke to the vet on call and she says that if the meds work and the fever is gone she can come home tomorrow. They have given her something to stop the throwing up and it seems to be working. She had a little to drink and that is a good sign. They gave her iv fluids too so things are looking up for her she is such a fiesty little girl lol like me I guess so I am taking it as good news and soon she will be here waking me up at 6 am again. Just so strange to hear of a dog having that, it is not something I would have guessed. Hugs

poor little girl! she must feel poorly baby!
sounds like your vet is confident tho that the meds will work - the fact that she is interested in drinking is a good sign.
she sounds a tough littke cookie!!
good luck - let us know how she goes on xx xx xx
